Drivers License Scanning
EVS has partnered with Intelli-Check, Inc. to offer another product to assist in combating identity fraud. The main use of this product is to ensure the ID being scanned is not a fake ID.
A thief can alter the picture on the ID, change the address, etc. and pass for being someone for whom they are not. That thief could possibly live for years using this false ID.
EVS has the capabilities to stop this thief in his/her tracks with the use of drivers license scanning. An end-user would swipe the ID and the software automatically determines if the ID is a known format or not. If it is not a known format, the end-user would know immediately that the ID is a fake, and would refuse the sale. If it is a known format, within seconds the software populates a picture on the computer screen, also will populate the date-of-birth and address. If a thief stole an ID, altered the picture, address, etc. once again the end-user would know immediately that the ID does not belong to this person and again refuse the sale and possibly even get the authorities involved.
Not only does this product combat fraud, it also speeds up service, and can save the end-user money and bad press for selling age restricted products to minors. Instead of the end-user manually typing in the date-of-birth and looking at the ID making sure the picture matches; simply swipe the ID and the end-user immediately knows if the person is of age or not.
